Trivia
Marine Aviation pioneered close air support during the 1920s and 1930s. During WWII ground units carried bright colored panels to mark out their positions. Ground-air communications when possible by a Tactical Air Control Party, TACP, which used a Marine Aviator to speak directly to the pilots.

Goofs
The defense attorney puts several undamaged bullets on the table that were removed from the underside of the airplane. Bullets shot from an M1 into the skin of a Corsair will sustain damage.
