    George Murdock and Dino Natali

"Movie" begins a 2 part storyline depicting Harris as aspiring movie producer, due to the department deciding to create a suitable 'dirty flick' to infiltrate the porno industry. Barney is most concerned with the escalating budget, since Harris is writing a lengthy script featuring real characterization and high production values (Harris: "they didn't bother Cimino until he went past $40 million!"). Wojo examines the script to see if there's anything in it he's never done! Harris points out one particular page (Harris: "you ever tried that?" Wojo: "no, but lemme make a few calls!"). George Murdock (ninth of twelve) makes his 8th appearance as Lt. Ben Scanlon of Internal Affairs, accusing Wojo of sexually harassing a male suspect that tried to hide a stolen wallet down his pants. Dino Natali makes his fifth and final appearance as uniformed Officer Zatelli, whose sexual preference is accidentally revealed by the defensive Wojo. Lt. Scanlon remembers the unsigned memo from the year before, wondering why the apprehensive Zatelli didn't reveal himself at that time: "but you didn't, so now you're dog meat!" (Zatelli does earn a happy ending, being transferred downtown to a better position in administration). Arny Freeman (last of six) plays a veteran radio reporter who attacks a young hotshot TV news reporter (Dennis Howard), for usurping his interview with Bella Abzug. Harris continues to conduct interviews with prospective actresses by telephone, Kitten in particular, with 'a very impressive set of...credits' (she starred in "Diaper Girls"): "you understand that this involves a good deal of nudity, and explicit sexual activity? No, not at the audition, save it for the movie, goodbye Kitty!"

    • Quotes

Det. Ron Harris: You're simply going to have to realize that the people who patronize today's erotic films are a lot more sophisticated than you and your friends were. Barney, these people have come to expect really good production values! Well-defined characters, viable stories, a musical score...

      Det. Sgt. Arthur Dietrich: Midgets.
