    Partial Law

After many a scene stealing turn throughout this first series of 'Becker' the writers obviously had decided by this point to make the character of Bob (Saverio Guerra) more of a regular feature.

By doing this though they equally then needed to ground him a little, and make him more three-dimensional as a character.

They do this well here, pitting the character up against Becker, with some very funny moments.

This show never became preachy, or too mawkish with its sentimentality, but there is a lovely moment here where the pace lulls a little, and we get as much of a sincere moment from Bob as we're ever likely to get. And it's played wonderfully.

    Good stuff.

    • Trivia
When Bob is in Becker's apartment and goes to the fridge for a beer, he says, "I hope you went shopping, 'cause that stuff you had last time, I wouldn't shampoo my dog with that." This is possibly a reference to the episode of Cheers (also starring Ted Danson) called "Now Pitching, Sam Malone" (S01E13), in which Norm asks Coach for two bottles of Fields beer and comments, "Normally I wouldn't use that to shampoo my dog but, Sammy, you just sold me."
    • Goofs
When Becker goes to the diner to confront Bob about the computer, there is a white spot resembling pigeon poop on his right shoulder. This spot disappears and reappears throughout the scene.
    • Quotes

Dr. John Becker: That's easy for you to say. You ever been robbed?

Margaret: Oh, please, I have lived in New York my whole life. I was held up on prom night, by my date!
