    • Trivia
The quotation that Jim Bergerac makes at the end about "the blushful Hippocrene, with beaded bubbles winking at the brim, and purple-stained mouth" is from John Keats' poem Ode to a Nightingale. Hippocrene was a fountain on Mount Helicon that was supposed to inspire poetry in those that drank from it, but from the context, Jim is more probably referring to wine.

[Jim is trying to get a vacuum cleaner to work. It is making rattling, whistling noises]

Charlie Hungerford: That looks as if it needs mending with a new one, as my old grand-dad used to say.

Det. Sgt. Jim Bergerac: Yeah, well I bought it second-hand. It probably *belonged* to your old grand-dad!
