HOW TO GET THE MONEY IN THE BANK?

Mr. Drysdale's wacky episode all the way, courting silver mine tycoon(?) Shorty (Shug Fisher) in hopes of him depositing his 200 million dollar(?) fortune in his bank.

You have to admit, Mr. D knows lots of ladies in bikinis? He attempts to spoil Shorty rotten with wine, women and song, all set at Jed and Granny's backyard pool. A wild pool party to be sure, with shades of all those 60s beach party romps. Miss Jane naturally questions Drysdale's business ethics, to which he claims no one will ever suspect him -- because it's all done in HER name! Laugh out loud stuff written by producer Paul Henning, and with a slight "R" rating. You be the judge.

Best line department; (to Miss Jane), "My lawyer will get YOU out of jail!" No worries?

All is going as planned until Jethro spills the beans. It turns out Shorty hid two hundred dollars in a jar and stashed it in the mine. That's his entire fortune! As for it being BIG money, Jethro claims the hundred dollar bills are bigger than the one dollars bills. Get it?

Mr. Drysdale goes nuts for the hundredth time. Raymond Bailey and Nancy Kulp make an outstanding comedy team, and should have had a sitcom spinoff of their own.

Shug Fisher, master of the fiddle and guitar, is a hoot. He appeared 17 times on the show, also known for many tv westerns, like GUNSMOKE (in a variety of roles).

Best of SEASON 8 remastered color for tv. Seasons 6 through 9, according to Amazon, are expected to be released on blu ray by 2027. Stay tuned. Thanks to METV for running every single season.

After Jed reads Shorty's proposal note to Elly May, she asks "What should I do Pa?" to which he replies "You just stay outside for a while Donna, I'll talk to Shorty about this", calling her by her stage name, not her character's name.
    • Quotes

Daisy Moses: It was the most disgusting, disgraceful sight. I wanted to cover my eyes.

      Jed Clampett: Why didn't you?

Daisy Moses: Cause, I'd a fell off the roof.

Jed Clampett: You just happened to be sittin' up there on the roof at 4 o'clock in the mornin'?
