Producer Paul Henning is to be credited for bringing the show out to film at Silver Dollar City Theme Park in Branson, Missouri. Brought national attention to the park, putting the place on the map. Branson owed a lot to the Beverly Hillbillies. Super trivia question.
Jed, Granny, Elly and Jethro head out to the annual fair back home for fun -- AND -- to get a suitable beau to marry Elly. It's Granny's plan to intoduce her to every bachelor in town. By this stage of the series, you kind of knew Elly likely would never get married as long as Granny was pitching wild schemes to get her hitched. The ultimate inside joke.
Comedian Elvia Allman returns as Elverna, Granny's long time frenemy who trades classic one-liners with her -- and gets crowned with a wicker basket and a face-full of mud? Shug Fisher also appears as Shorty, doin' his stuff.
BACK HOME... Mr. Drysdale, wearing an apron(!), is taking care of Elly's critters, including Gentle Ben, the famous bear. Must see schtick, and Raymond Bailey is having fun with these guys; Judy the chimp tosses a pancake in his face! Three Stooges defined.
Granny (or Irene Ryan) has a super scene on stage adressing all the tourists at the park. You also get to see some of the stores and exhibits, which are a work of art. Applause to wardrobe manager Opal Vils for dressing everybody up, above and beyond the call of duty. Miss Jane wins the best dressed business attire award (in the opening scene), as always. White is her color.
Not to be missed. SEASON 8 EPISODE 3 remastered color. Seasons 6 through 9 are expected to be released on blu ray by 2027. Thanks to METV for the memories.

- Quotes
Elly May Clampett: I dropped my cake on the kitchen table, and it busted into little pieces!
Shorty Kellems: That's a shame, Elly.
Jed Clampett: Well, I guess that'll keep outta the cake baking contest.
Elly May Clampett: Oh, no sir. The cake's fine, it's the table I gotta sweep up.
