    LADY CLEMENTINE'S GHOST!

101 percent Goofy Halloween episode, set at the Clampett's English castle, which Mr. Drysdale wants Jed, Granny, Elly and Jethro (who is having a blast) to leave once and for all -- and return to normalcy(?) in Beverly Hills.

The SECRET Plan: Drysdale comes up with the legend of Lady Clementine, who supposedly was murdered about 400 years ago by a grandmother -- like Granny? Granny is the whole show, fending off rumors of killer ghosts and tossing in some memorable one liners.

Yes, there's a wild seance scene, and check out the wardrobe. Thank you to costume designer Opal Vils.

Excellent writing on the part of producers Paul Henning and Buddy Atkinson, who really hit the bullseye. In fact, with the British background setting (filmed on location), has the feel of a BENNY HILL comedy. Famous Brit character actor Richard Caldicot guests stars as Faversham, a recurring role he had for seven episodes. Fun to watch.

Historically, filmed at plush Penshurst Place at Kent, England. Built in 1341, once the getaway vacation home of King Henry VIII.

Best of SEASON 7 EPISODE 5 remastered for tv. Seasons 6 through 12, according to Amazon, should be released on blu ray by 2027. Seasons 1 through 5 are available on dvd. Thanks METV for the memories.

    • Trivia
At one point Granny says, "I ain't a-scared of no ghost." Though this later became the famous catchphrase for "Ghostbusters," it's obviously a coincidence.
    • Quotes

Daisy Moses: [wearing a mini skirt] No 400 year old ghost will mistake me for a grandmother in this.
