Carol (Ingeborg Kjeldsen) tells Jed (Buddy Ebsen) he looks like John Wayne. Both Buddy Ebsen and John Wayne were tall (Ebsen 6' 3 1/4"~Wayne 6' 4"), and were born 11 months apart (John Wayne 1907 /Buddy Ebsen 1908). They never appeared onscreen together in movies or television.
