    Will Geer Guest Stars

Esmeralda zaps George Washington out of Tabitha's history book.

An OK episode, not a lot of big laughs but interesting for some then current references. The first scene has Tabitha wanting a buckle and button from Washington for show and tell, when Esmeralda tries for that the real Washington pops up. There is a scene where Darrin shows George the $1 dollar bill, he wonders why the $5 dollar bill has some bearded fellow on it. George wanders off into a park and gives a speech, a hippie in the crowd (played by Geer's real life son) applauds his speech but George is arrested. Esmeralda tries to send him back to his time but only succeeds in zapping up Martha as well, setting up Part 2.

    • Goofs
When Sam is showing George Washington the map in the den, she mentions "Washington, DC" as the nation's capital. George should've corrected her, as the nation's capital was Philadelphia during Washington's presidency. It was moved to Washington, DC in May 1800 - five months after George Washington died.

However, native Virginians like Washington, Madison, and Jefferson were actively planning for a capital near their homes for years before the move. So, it would not come as a surprise to Washington that the capital had been moved to Washington DC - he would merely assume that their campaign to move the capital eventually succeeded.
