I miss Dick York
I LOVED Dick York so much. The new Darren is not horrible of course. But the "old Darren" was my favorite. I do like the kid from Family Affair on this episode. As always, I feel sorry for Darren's mother, she is confused so much of the time on Bewitched.
Enter Dick Sargent
Dick Sargent's first appearance as Darren, in a notably silly episode. Sargent seemed to fit into the role very easily. In my opinion, he was a little better than Dick York. Sargent seemed to be more in control of what he was doing. He wasn't so nervous and jittery, the way York always was. This episode however, wasn't the greatest. Silly variation on Jack and the Beanstalk. We have Johnnie Whitaker as Jack, and Ronald Long as a "giant" with a big mouth. Overall, a mediocre start to the sixth season.
Darrin gets a lobotomy
Been watching the series from the start and just got to the debut of Dick Sargent portraying Darren. Not only did they replace the character with a different actor but the also seemed to change Darren's manorism as well. Darren didn't seem to blow up at Samantha when something happened due to witchcraft like he would have if Dick York would have. Now I've only just watched the first episode featuring Dick Sargent so only time may tell. On the plus side I always disliked the way Darren would get all hot-headed when witchcraft was used and then belittle Samantha when she accomplished something the mortal way because he thought she could only accomplish such an act with witchcraft. I'm not sure giving Darren a character lobotomy was called for but if he actually treats his wife with respect now instead of always fuming over every little thing then running off to the bar to get advice from Mr. Whipple then I'm all for it.

- TriviaThis is the first appearance of Dick Sargent as Darrin, replacing Dick York. At the beginning of this episode there is a tight shot of Elizabeth Montgomery and as the camera slowly pulls back it reveals Sargent as the "new" Darrin.
