    Nobody Covering Receiver?

One of the pictures Greg took of Linette had the receiver in the background catching the pass inbounds. There was nobody within 40 yards defending the receiver.

    Football And Photography

Greg makes the football team and Carol is worried he will get hurt.

An OK episode for Greg, not one of the best. Greg ends up with a broken rib and Carol refuses to let him play. There is an amusing sub plot of Bobby trying to be photographer taking candid shots. Alice also tries to remember a cake recipe that keeps getting erased from the kitchen blackboard.

    THE FOOTBALL BLUES.

Alfred and Helen Levitt wrote this super episode, also known for the DONNA REED SHOW. Dedicated to all us teen sports stars back in the day.

Also a great character study, all about Greg, determined to wow everyone on the football field, including some cheerleaders. Everything is going, going -- until he's injured.

A major setback, and Greg is really bummered out, now re-evaluating his athletic career? In the meantime, Bobby is working the camera, taking some candid pictures at the game. You kind of know where it's all going, right?

A random photo just happens to be the key in determining the outcome of an important football game. Bart LaRue, who played many reporters and newsmen, portrays the coach, and a real fair guy, sorts things out with Greg and Bobby. Another cool part of the episode, too.

Most high school games don't have the photographic coverage as do college games, but the outcomes are nevertheless just as important. Good point. Another reason why they developed cell phones, right? You have to chuckle a bit when you're watching this, remembering the old days. No cell phones, no laptops, no NOTHING.

A 10 star family episode all the way, with a side gag that finds Alice stuck in the kitchen at odds with a blackboard.

SEASON 3 remastered ABC/Paramount dvd box set. Collectors edition with a super cover.

    • Trivia
The car Mike steers into the home driveway is a 1971 Plymouth Barracuda convertible.
    • Goofs
Mike and Greg are in the bathroom/darkroom developing the print of the touchdown catch. As soon as it develops enough to see the player's feet, Mike turns on the light. In a real darkroom this would ruin the print, as it needs to go into a stop bath after it's developed (into an image).
    • Quotes

Linette Carter: Wow, that's really insulting!

Greg Brady: Insulting? What do you mean, insulting?

Linette Carter: Well, you must think I'm a very shallow, superficial kind of person if I like someone just because he's on the football team.
