The Besieged

While riding on a trail, gunfire startles Bronco and he sees three gunmen attacking a small family clan trapped in the rocks. He fires back at the men, wounding the younger one severely while working his way to the family - they are not not firing back. He assumes that they have run out of ammo but in fact they are Quakers who do not believe in fighting.

The family is headed to California to join others on their homestead, but the gunmen, believing there's gold in them lands, want their homestead.

Bronco tries to keep the bad hombres at bay and at the same trying to convince the Quakers that they need to fight back. Such an advice falls on deaf ears. Things get worse when the young Quaker boy throws away Bronco's pistol and rifle while he sleeps, forcing Bronco to become creative in order to save the group and himself with a little help from the Quakers' beliefs.

Excellent episode with a gripping plot, and some good ideas such Bronco using certain trickery to keep the bad guys at bay when he's left gunless. The character are very-well etched, from the conflicted Quaker gal, to Jack Elam who, as expected, play a heel to the max. Claude Akins is a bit more sombre fellow but as dangerous. Ty Hardin is likeable and resourceful as always.
