    Solid Western Tale

Until I recently saw this episode, the only Broncos I knew were either made by Ford or Clint Eastwood used the name in a film & Bill Murray used the name in a sequence in the film Groundhog Day. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this episode of the series on the American Life Network.

Ty Hardin is our cowboy hero, in this episode he is a Deputy Marshall who becomes involved in arresting a murder suspect played by Edgar Bucannan. His boss, the Marshall, is an older guy in his 60's & Bronco & anther deputy are trying to stop a hard headed woman & her family from Stringing up Bucannan without a trial for killing her son, shooting him in the back.

They go through a lot in this episode including another murder before they get to the bottom of who the real murder suspect should be. Of course it isn't Edgar Bucannan's character & it isn't Bronco. That's all I will tell you so as not to spoil who really did the killing.

This show is a pretty tight Western Drama. I think that not only Ty Hardin (Bronco) but the entire cast perform well in this well written episode.

    Winter Kill

Marshal Sample and Bronco are escorting a prisoner to the county jail they rescued from a lynching, but their job may be hampered by a vengeful mother who has sworn to kill the prisoner. When Sample is killed, Bronco must take over.

And Bronco has a lot going against him - the prisoner's daughter, the deputy sheriff and the mother's son ... and the snow blizzard.

There's a twist at very turn in this top tier entry that sees Bronco getting helluva of a challenge - the plot is tightly-drawn, tense and has conflict to keep the home fires burning. There's plenty of action. The ending's nail biting, but the real killer was easily guessed. Edgar Buchanan plays the prisoner and as usual does a great job. Richard Rust matches him as the mother's hotheaded son.
