    Dark and serious Buffy...

This episode completely proves why Season 6 of Buffy is by far the darkest. Every complex action that the characters make affect them, and I think that this episode shows how tangled up every character is. Both James Marsters are Sarah Michelle Gellar are convincing in the attempted 'rape' scene. Overall, the ending of the episode remains one of the best endings to any Buffy episode, and it proves how shocking and dark a show of a supernatural premise can be. Kudos to everyone involved who worked on this episode, although I know many fans will be at the top of the line and will certainly have problems with how dramatic the show has gotten.

    • Trivia
From 2002 to 2009 Amber Benson (Tara) and Adam Busch (Warren) were in a relationship and lived together in real life. In the series, ironically, it was Warren who murdered Tara. Joss Whedon told Busch, "In this episode, you're gonna kill your girlfriend. To which Busch replied, "Warren gets a girlfriend?" Whedon replied, "No, your REAL girlfriend".
    • Goofs
Negative was flipped as Spike is driving away on his motorcycle; the brand of the motorcycle is visible as AHAMAY.

[not immediately aware she's been shot, seeing her blood on Willow]

      Tara: Your shirt...

    • Crazy credits
Amber Benson (Tara) was added to the opening credits, despite being killed off at the end of the episode. This is because Joss Whedon has "always wanted to kill someone in the opening credits."
    • Alternate versions
The British channel, Sky One, cut the scene where Spike attempts to rape Buffy from the part where Buffy falls against the shower to where she has finished struggling on the floor and kicks him away. They also cut a shot where a bullet went through a window and through Tara's chest, subsequently with blood spattering on Willow's chest. Tara looks and says, "Your shirt." Sky started the scene with that line. Also, at the start of the episode, Warren snaps a demon's neck. Several frames were trimmed so that the snapping itself was not shown, but the sound effect was left in.
