    AMOS & HONEY WEST. WOW.

Must, must see for classic tv fans. TWO series in ONE.

Short and bittersweet. A banker is shot and killed in a seedy Hollywood hotel and WHODUNIT? Turns out super sleuth Honey West (beautiful Anne Francis) was already working on the case. Amos joins forces (at first cautiously) and so the fun begins. Honey practices judo! ***Pilot episode for HONEY WEST, who we just loved. Only debit, filmed in black and white -- Anne Francis wears some cool threads.

Plenty of leering suspects, shades of 77 SUNSET STRIP, co-written by Paul Dubov, who wrote for the classic cop show. Famous tv writer Gwen Bagni developed Honey West, later moving to MOD SQUAD.

Best Line; Honey to Amos... "To know me is to hate me!"

Dynamic cast. Oscar nominee Jan Sterling plays Vera, and is she drinking too many cocktails? Louis Hayward (the original SAINT) guest stars. Steve Forrest plays Jacko, a swimmer. He jumps out of his swimming trunks and into a shirt and jeans in about 10 seconds. Watch this.

Mini classic. Honey (in disguise) now a brunette with glasses and a derby(?) is the best. Don't forget her white Jaguar. One smooth ride up against Amos' Rolls Royce. Everything clicks here.

SEASON 2 EPISODE 30 remastered for tv. Only season one is available on dvd. Check Amazon for updates. Thanks METV for the memories.

    Honey Trap!

A body is discovered on the flashing neon sign of a hotel. Burke and his men are on the scene to investigate when a beautiful blonde shows up. Turns out she is Honey West (Ann Francis) a well-known private investigator who had been hired by the deceased.

Although warned by Burke to stay off the case (after all she no longer had a client) West is determined to find out who bumped off her client and why.

A backdoor pilot for the "Honey West" tv series, its easy to see why this show was picked up. Francis is good as West and there's some nice tension between her and Burke. It's too bad he didn't make a crossover appearance on "Honey West" the next season but of course by then Burke (and Barry) were now international spies and no longer mere police captains.
