      When Lucille and Rose are watching a TV program called "Crain's Wife", it's a play on words of the title of playwright George Kelly's play, "Craig's Wife", about a domineering wife and her subservient husband. The play was adapted into three feature films, including the 1936 film with Rosalind Russell and the 1950 film "Harriet Craig" with Joan Crawford.

      In the opening scene when Toody is on the phone with Lucille, the phone that he's using switches between noticeably different styles right in the middle of his conversation.
