James Coco And The Pointer Sisters

One of the best of Season 8, only question in the Q&A is about the music, Carol introduces musical director Peter Matz.

A quick but funny commercial spoof on the Parkay/butter one has Carol arguing with the voice of the margarine (Harvey)

The Pointer Sisters sing Steam Heat from The Pajama Game.

A very funny Kojak spoof has Harvey in the title role, Carol is a floozie. Hilarious punchline where everybody is bald.

The next sketch is Harvey getting a blind date for his friend James Coco, a panty hose salesman. Vicki has a quick bit at the end.

Carol joins the Pointer Sisters for the song Salt Peanuts, Carol has to keep up with fast tempo and scat singing.

There is a great movie spoof One Way Ticket, seems to be based on Love Affair 1939). Carol and Coco are the couple who meet on an ocean liner. Harvey an Irish accented cop taking Coco in for murder. Vicki a doctor, spoofing Maria Ouspenskaya. Carol has a "movie disease". Funny ending involving ghosts.

Carol sings lyrics to Scott Joplin's The Entertainer with the Pointer Sisters, joined by Coco and the dancers.

Carol talks pollution, sings her theme and the guests sign her book.

    • Trivia
One Way Ticket spoofs mainly Love Affair (1939), starring French actor Charles Boyer and Irene Dunne. In case there were any confusion with the later remake, Vicky Lawrence even introduces herself as "Oupsenskaya". Maria Ouspenskaya starred in the aforementioned film, as Boyer's grand-mother. In a lesser way, it also spoofs "Dark Victory", but this is evident since one of the characters names the film & lead actress.
