- Eva: The witch's journey is a walk of wisdom collected over the years, Phoebe. Wisdom gives us power. Power frightens the fearful and ignorant.
- Prue: Well, that would certainly explain why in our time, witches are made to look silly on Halloween.
- Eva: And this magic? This knowledge is forgotten?
- Phoebe: We could get it back if you teach us.
- Eva: Here. The conical hat is a spiritual point. It helps to channel our magic.
- [She puts it on Phoebe's head, while Phoebe gives a silly look]
- Eva: Keeps us centered, focused.
- [She puts her hands together and draws them down while looking intently to Phoebe]

- Piper: Eh, what's with the masks?

- [She takes a mask an holds it in front of her face]
- Eva: So a mask allows you to hide your identity, walk amongst them.

- [Points at a broom, one of the other women holds, and gets it handed over and peruse it while taking it]
- Phoebe: Okay now, don't tell me you ride around on this thing.
- [laughs with disbelieve though secretly wishing it]
- Eva: Anything's possible. Here. A broom's traditional purpose is to sweep evil from your path.
- [while showing Phoebe how to hold the broom stick properly]
- Eva: Sweep east to west, same path as the sun travels.
- [while slowly sweeping with Phoebe, then lets go and Phoebe practices on her own]
- Eva: Like anything else in magic, it's how you do it. With knowledge and reverence.
- Phoebe: Wow, do I feel silly.
- [laughs and a flash goes through the broom stick]
- Phoebe: *Ahw*!
- Piper: What happened?

- Eva: No. You felt the power.
- [Nods while looking at Phoebe]
- Eva: All right, Sally will go with you to Ruth's house. She'll give you the last few things you'll need. I wish I could go with you.
- Prue: We'll do great. You've armed us well.
