    Ray Charles and the Raelettes

The power of Moonlighting as a cultural phenomenon of the eighties is on full display in this episode. The episode starts with Charles Rocket as David Addison's brother again but in the guise of Norton from The Honeymooners. Maddie wants to put their romance on ice, and pop psychologist Dr. Joyce Brothers appears to analyze her. Ray Charles and the amazing Raelettes appear to school Dave on how to hit the road.

It's great to see all this star power because the end of their relationship is baked into the plot of the series all along and without all the distractions we all wouldn't switched it off long before the final season. Still worth your time, but be aware this episode was the beginning of the gnawing frustration in the audience.

AN ACCEPTABLE START TO THE SEASON

Maddie is extremely confused, she loves David but finds that the relationship is not going anywhere, he does everything possible to make her agree and goes out of his way to convince her that they are both on the right track. A correct episode but the viewer is as confused as the protagonists, we also do not know which side the writers are directing the story for.
