One classic sketch and two very good ones

For me the sketch set at the hospital is brilliant from start to finish. Everything he does from the moment we find out he tail-gated an ambulance to the hospital through everything that happens in the waiting room is the titular character used to his hilariously competitive and selfish best. Every bit of visual humour and storytelling is perfect.

The sketch with the soldier feels like a moment of classic britishness parodied in a way that works because it's Mr Bean doing it. Is it slightly overlong? Maybe, but I still enjoyed it.

Finally the Goodnight Mr Bean moment finishes the episode well with a memorable character-defining bedtime routine that is both sweet and funny.

Rowan Atkinson is a brilliant as always.

My 8 year old daughter was constantly laughing throughout this one, which for me is an additionally good point.

Trivia
In Goodnight Mr Bean. Mr Bean tries to get to sleep by counting sheep, on a poster that is. After repeated miscounts he decides to count them by multiplying the row and column, on his calculator he types 27 x 15 which equals 405, although it's obvious there are far fewer sheep, there are in fact only 43.

Goofs
The piece of trash covering the nude statue disappears after Mr Bean takes a photo of it.

Alternate versions
The scene where Bean shoots the light bulb with the handgun is removed from reruns on children's television channels in the UK due to its violent nature.
