great series, a crackup from the beginning

"you know that guy you see going to the convenience store when you stop off in a little town on your way to your grandma's house? the kinda guy you wait to come out before you and your family go in?" well, that guy is... Earl

Like he says, he's exactly who you think he is. A thoughtless, rude and stupid guy who's always been a bully. But what the series is about is his change: by watching TV, he gets enlightened and learns about karma.

He then tries to make up for all the bad things he's done. But doing good isn't easy, there's always a lot of repercussions you don't expect.

The gags are great, and the system of flashbacks is very effective.

Trivia
The man Randy dances with in the gay bar is Gregory Thomas Garcia, the series' creator.

Goofs
In the first of the show, Earl places Kenny at number 64 because he tortured him when they were both children. In the opening montage for the next episode, number 64 is shown as "Spray painted the bridge."
