"I'm gonna be a real star."

(265-word review) I was surprised by this episode. Part of me has grown accustomed to being mildly entertained by each one, which causes me to expect an episode that accomplishes its job but isn't anything beyond that. And that's an understandable mindset to have concerning shows like this.

It's also a good thing in a certain way, as it elevates episodes that are already better than usual. You're expecting one thing, then get something better, and your initial mindset makes what you received a little better than that. This episode's the best example in the show thus far. That's how it felt, anyway.

I was engaged deeply; something about the vibe throughout was a factor.

The plot was interesting, and the unfolding of it maintained that same level of interest, perhaps exceeding it at times. The back-and-forth between Tony and Caitlin at the beginning was surprising, especially since it lasted about 3 minutes before even getting to the case, yet it still had a sense of sincerity. Mýa's performance came across as compelling. Sasha Alexander's outfit for Caitlin's undercover work was fantastic: props to the costume supervisors.

And the antagonists were British, which was also surprising but welcome; Steven Brand immediately looked familiar, except I couldn't place him until I looked him up (he was Dr. Gabriel Valack in MTV's fifth season of Teen Wolf).

Best episode of the season so far, without a doubt. That ending had a kick to it. It was powerful. Taking it one step further, this was comparable to the first season's best episodes. I was pleasantly surprised, deeply engaged, and entertained.

Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: What are you looking at me like that for?

Agent Caitlin Todd: Oh, I'm just waiting for you to say "Boss, let me take the lead on this one!"

Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: What I was going to say, Kate, was that if Hitch used a girl to seduce Willie Taylor, it was probably one of his dancers. We get Willie to identify Ms. Go-Go and flip her to get to Hitch.

Agent Caitlin Todd: What are you doing?

Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: Uh, just chronicling this little conversation for our next session with Ducky.

Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: Are you done?

      Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: Almost.

Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: Done or fired are the choices.

      Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: Done.
