    Brilliant and unsettling

You may see my initial review of this episode under another name right here. I have since watched it several more times, and have found it to be probably the single best episode of this short-lived, low-budget fantasy series. Bill Pullman plays an Army major who along with several fellow Army members investigates what appears to be an impenetrable window into another time or dimension featuring a bucolic, Amish-type farm. To make it even eerier, the window is in the middle of a desert. Pullman, a first-rate actor, makes the weird plot work, as his major becomes increasingly obsessed with finding his way through the window. The quality of the episode is such that you may think you're watching a movie and not a cheap knockoff of TALES FROM THE CRYPT, OUTER LIMITS or even THE TWILIGHT ZONE. The ending is a real shocker with an epilogue that is guaranteed to give you the chills. Brilliantly written and performed and photographed. And may I add I had the distinct pleasure of meeting and chatting with Mr. Pullman in the Vegas airport years ago. He was on his way to Canada to appear in LOST HIGHWAY.
