    Superb series starts here

As someone who lived in Leeds in the years preceding the creation of this show, it was lovely to see familiar bits of the city feature in a show that was actually really, really good.

I remember we enjoyed the series very much and it was sad that it didn't continue, but life went on and it was only recently that I obtained the DVD and began a re-watch.

The viewer is definitely thrown in at the deep end, with a great deal of rapid fire dialogue, some of it with a Scottish accent (which always takes me a moment to adapt to despite my familial connections!). It doesn't take long to catch on to who is who though, or the set up of this being a relatively new chambers, a breakaway from another. It seems the old chambers might have some resentment about that, and it also seems as though the new chambers comprises a group of mostly younger people who want to do things a bit differently from the old bar establishment.

It doesn't take long for the show to produce both drama and humour (the latter often around naive Morag from Mull) and it's a great start.
