"Vot is yor neim?"

This one from 86 is a clear classic. Great interplay from the 3 trotters throughout and you can see the actors finding their groove together now. John challis as Boyce has some great moments...the Louis Armstrong line being his best.

30 mins only unfortunately as was the run time in those days.

One of my favourites.

Solid episode with a quite shocking premise

Rodney brings a pregnant lady home and Del attempts to sell her baby to Boycie and Marlene.

The above description does not paint a positive picture of Del in this episode and I'd like to say the concept is not as heinous as it sounds, but he shows only glimpses of humanity in this one. Whether intended or not by John Sullivan it works as a pretty damning indictment of uncontrolled capitalism.

As ever the comedy is prioritised with lots of good banter between characters. In this episode the recurring character Boycie has some of the best moments and John Challis is very funny with facial expressions and verbal delivery. David Jason, Nicholas Lyndhurst, and Buster Merryfield are on great form as always.

For me it's a 7.5/10, but I round upwards.

Everything You Buy Off Him's Got Something Missing!

Not really got that much to say about this one. A pretty forgettable affair and for me the worst series opener. Feels really dated. Still worth a watch though. Some of Del's foreign phrase attempts are humorous as is Rodney 'playing' with Duke.

Not the best but worth a look. It's OFAH after all.

This is not only a great start to the fifth series of 'Only Fools and Horses', but it also ranks for me as one of my favourite episodes from across the twenty two year run of the sitcom in general.

Writer and Creator, John Sullivan, was really finding his feet by this point, and with the new trio of Del Boy, Rodney and Uncle Albert in place and now established, he was able to take the show to the next level.

This episode is funny, it has some very clever lines and moments, but it's Sullivan's gift at now being able to combine the satellite characters (Boycie and Marlene) and have some genuine moments of heart that set this episode apart.

I'm not sure it would stand up to 2023 PC standards, but it's a classic.

It's a shocker, but so funny.

Ever the trader, Del Boy spots an opportunity to make a few quid, he and Rodney come to the assistance of a pregnant young German woman, who's been left pregnant and stranded.

It's quite a shocker this one, the story I actually quite shocking by today's standards. It's a real mix of funny and sad, poor Boycie and Marlene, it adds a serious side.

I always wonder about Del Boy in this one, does he mean well by anyone, or is it just an excuse to make a few quid.

Plenty of classic moments, Boycie's announcement about his past crimes, Albert's efforts to communicate with Anna, Rodney and Dukey.

It doesn't surprise me to learn that this was written with Grandad in mind, but Uncle Albert is a joy.

Erika Hoffman puts in a very sweet performance, she's lovely throughout, and of course she played Lesley in Brush Strokes.

Quality.

9/10.

Trivia
This episode (in which the original script featured Grandad instead of Albert) was originally meant to be part of the fourth series, but had to be postponed due to Lennard Pearce's death.

Goofs
When Del is telling an aggrieved Boycie and a distraught Marlene that Anna's child isn't a boy, he says "I know I said it's a girl, but it ain't" rather than "I know I said it's a boy, but it ain't" as the baby is indeed a girl.
