    Solid storyline, excellent performances

Amanda Plummer fully deserves her Emmy Award for her portrayal of Dr. Theresa Givens. Michelle Forbes as FBI agent Jamie Pratt also gives a great performance. The writing and storyline is excellent. But an excellent story still requires strong performances to bring it all together. And for this show it certainly was there. Gripping from start to finish. No plastic looking aliens who can speak English here. Just a captivating story with an outstanding performance by Amanda Plummer. This story will keep you thinking even after the credits roll. I can't help but feel that some of the more recent movies (eg. Butterfly Effect seemed to have borrowed heavily from here.) Even if you are not into sci-fi, watch it for the strong storyline and amazing performances! You will not regret it.

Cool story, way before the minority report too! But god dam didn't they know about bras back then? Like the 16th thing I've watched from the 90s and the headlights are on full beam 😬

Good Handling of Time Travel Implication

Time travel is always a problem in science fiction from the simple fact that time would be mutable. When one reverses a decision in the past, what are the broad implications of that action. Also, does the time traveler maintain knowledge of the present and the past. This is responded to in this episode. A series of murders have taken place and young rape victim is responsible. She is going back in time to kill men whom she knows will eventually become violent rapists. This woman is played by Amanda Plummer who made a career out of playing many slightly unbalanced characters. Enter the police who have found fingerprints from past cases, linking Plummer's character to murders committed when she was in kindergarten. That's the story. We see Plummer go through a kind of time tunnel to locations where the pre-rapists are. She carries a gun and removes them cold-bloodedly. The interesting part of the story is how the young police detective maneuvers through the fourth dimension. This would make a good case study for a physics class.

The Butterfly Effect meets Minority Report?

I don't think I've quite seen the two premises done together quite like this before, but then I've also not seen every single Sci-Fi movie and TV show ever made, so I'm sure there's something similar out there somewhere but I just haven't seen it. Yet.

Amanda Plummer is fantastic in her role here of the time-traveling dispenser of Pre-Crime justice, killing serial killers before they can even start their sprees. She has an overarching purpose though, and it's one she's hesitant to face. Michelle Forbes is similarly great in the role of the FBI Agent doggedly trying to solve a string of murders over 30 years, all tied together by a single weapon and, eventually, a fingerprint that can't possibly be where it was found, despite indisputably being there.

The ending leaves a lot to be desired, but the journey TO that ending is fantastic.

    My favourite episode

I like the time travel stories generally and this is one of the best. There is a scientist, and a cop, and multiple trips back in time all resulting in a new present day situation upon return. The best part about time travel stories in my view is not going back to see the past, but going back in time to change the past in order to change the present. This episode does a wonderful job at illustrating the effects and side effects of doing this.

I won't discuss any plot details, but if you like this sort of story you will be glad you watched it.

The acting by both Amanda Plummer and Michelle Forbes is excellent! Andrew Airlie is superb as well. Watch the incredible eye contact between Plummer and Forbes meeting in a scene near the end communicating a combination of discovery and understanding.

Jamie Pratt: [Time portal opening] Even if this were possible, why would anyone do such a thing?

Dr. Theresa Givens: An opportunity to kill the killers before they can kill. What the hell could be Wrong with that?

Jamie Pratt: But - but you are talking about killing innocent men. They haven't done anything.

      Dr. Theresa Givens: They would've!
