On the witness stand, the banker testified that the $100 bills he gave to Kraft were "fresh from the Mint." But the U.S. Mint doesn't produce paper money, only coins. Paper money comes from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.
Paul smells gas and breaks down the door to Kraft's office -- this may have created a spark which could have caused an explosion. He should have broken a window to vent the gas and shut off the valve.
As noted by a reviewer, gas heaters of this type have a safety valve that prevents gas from escaping if the pilot goes out. If there weren't, gas explosions would be commonplace whenever there is a gas interruption or blown out pilot light.
Mr. Kraft's revolver has no bullets in it when he points it at Mr. Torg.
