The best episode of this series, with an '80s vibe

There is something about this episode that screams '80s to me. Maybe it's that the arcade aspect of the cybercafe is a bit more prominent; maybe it's the councilwoman's style of dress; maybe it's the plotline with its "the youth needs a positive place to groove, and doesn't have to conform to the man (though the elected government will come to the youth's aid, providing a non-subversive moral)"... Hey, maybe it's the monster-of-the-week's outfit. Whatever it is, while the writing is silly and has certain logical holes (the councilwoman being swayed so randomly; Dr. Oliver basically leaving Trent to fend for himself for a bit; Trent concealing the events from his dad), by and large it's a fun one.

    • Trivia
The gearshift in Tommy's Jeep is different than before; in the first episode of the season (Day of the Dino Pt.1) the gearshift was a manual located on the floor at the center of the front of the vehicle, but in this episode it is a column shifter located on the Jeep's steering column.

Dr. Anton Mercer: You're home late.

Trent Fernandez: Yeah, Dr. Oliver gave me a ride. Had a little car trouble.

      Dr. Anton Mercer: I see.

Trent Fernandez: Dad, how come you and he don't hang out anymore? I mean, I thought you guys were good friends.

Dr. Anton Mercer: Trent, you'll find that as you grow up, different people come in and out of your life. Dr. Oliver and I had our time, and now we've... both moved on to different things.
