    Annoying

Given the fact that basically this entire series (with exception of a few episodes here and there and this being one of them) was written by the same person, such blunders should not end up in an episode. Towards the beginning Helen Gamble stands up in court to give an opening statement and declares that "Detective Bowers was the first Boston police officer to be killed in the line of duty in over a decade." That is a wildly outrageous line to have been written because during season 2 Bobby having gotten information from Helen due to him being at her apartment during a phone call she took, then being obligated to tell his client about what he overheard and what she shared with him after the phone call got police officers killed during a raid at the client's warehouse the following day. If a different person were writing each episode and there were 15 different executive producers like there often are in current time then it would be one thing. But that wasn't the case here. This was ridiculously sloppy. Beyond that, firing half the cast in order to try to save the show was also ridiculously idiotic. Denny Crane was one of the most annoying characters I've ever seen in my entire life and Boston Legal (the spinoff of this show) sucked. What a waste. There was actually only one thing I didn't hate about season 8 of The Practice and that was that they retained Camryn Manheim (Ellenor Frutt), she's my favorite.

STARTING TO LOSE NE A BIT

As I binge through the series for the first time (July 2022) I'm getting a bit over Bobby and the tantrums from him and the others too.

I'm enjoying the civil cases more than the criminal ones. There's just too many super crazies and each episode seems bent on out psycho-ing the previous one.
