An excellent, fun, over the top episode.

An undercover agent, posing as a dentist, is killed, killed by a poison that delays pain, Jeff and Jeannie are sent to The Pain Investigation to investigate, where they encounter Colonel Anger.

This is one of the episodes I remember best, I remember it for Derek Jacobi first and foremost, but I also never forget the sheer imagination of the story, imagine a medication that could delay pain, what a phenomenal concept.

It has a wonderfully quirky sixties vibe to it, it's very outlandish, bags of fun, and totally over the top.

Loved those opening scenes, and for anyone with a phobia of dentists, that would have hit a nerve, quite literally, wonderfully macabre.

They really weren't afraid to sexy things up back then, with Emilia Fox and Dervla Kirwan both looking incredible in their red uniforms, the less said about Nitin Ganatra's wig, the better. The idea of that pleasure machine, that's definitely somewhat post watershed viewing.

    9/10.
