I wonder if Dario Argento has ever seen this episode

I am currently going through this series "Return of the Saint", having not seen any episodes since they were originally on in the late seventies.

On the whole i have been a bit disappointed so far, they are not as likeable as the Roger Moore "The Saint" episodes.

One thing i do like is some of the locations and actors they used, as i am a big fan of the Italian Giallo. In this episode the hotel room they are staying in is exactly the same one from Dario Argentos giallo "Tenebrae", which was made about 5 years after this. I dont know if this is the actual room rather than a set, but i assume it is a genuine hotel room. We also get actor Daniele Vargas who appeared in a couple of gialli.

Also of note here is we get Linda Thorson of "The Avengers" fame.

So although i am not mad on the episode itself. It is interesting because of the reasons i have mentioned.

The Saint and the singer

The Return of the Saint is one those series that thrilled me as a kid, my eyes glued to the screen, watching this suave hero coming to the rescue. In this episode he is helping a singer escaped from her brutish manager. He stages a kidnap but it all goes wrong.

A really entertaining episode with some good plot twists, a certain warmth, and the splendour of Rome. This Saint lite with a good motorbike sequence, one that was etched in my memory as a kid. The song Kim Goody sings is quite good. A nice episode.
