I like the bit where the lawyer gets cranky at Kramer

    Filler episode...

    Hello there.

This episode was reviewed on the date of Junebug of the number date of the 4th in the year 2023rd in century 21st on the Greggy Calendar.

What happened in this episode?: George wants to postpone the wedding because him and Susan have boring conversations

    Jerry heckles Elaine.

Elaine is jealous of George and seeks out the "you know who" for advice, and he basically tells everyone about Elaine's jealousy

    Kramer spills coffee on himself.

The story and production overview: An okay episode. It felt like a filler. Not much happening in this episode.

    Highlight: Meh

    Laugh meter: 3

    Villain: George?

Overall: an episode worth seeing a couple times only

What can be learned?: Never get married?

    Cold Feet

A weaker episode but still hilarious. George realizes that a Christmas wedding is way to quick for him, so he tries to get Susan to push it to spring. His methods are excellent. The other plot concerns Elaine's reaction to George's "good news." She is filled with jealousy and anger toward him. She feels she should be the one getting married first. When she spills her guts to a TV rabbi, he tells everyone in the building about it, making her look ridiculous. He even tells the story on TV, using names. While all this is going on, Kramer spills coffee on himself after bringing it into a movie illegally. He burns himself, and gets a lawyer to sue the coffee company. The guy playing the lawyer is an awesome character as he chastises Kramer for his stupid actions. Really funny.

"Yeah, I don't know what that means"

Another great episode to propel George's engagement arc.

Although The Postponement is a weaker episode than the season opening one, it does achieve at something that The Engagement couldn't and that is the cohesive connection of stories. Whereas in the opening episode you had George's story on one side and Elaine's dog problem on the other, in The Postponement you have George postponing the wedding and Elaine reaction to this wedding. Jerry and Kramer just bounces around these stories.

George's arc continues to be awesome with him finding out he and Susan have nothing in common and later finding out a key aspect of serious relationships. And after Susan agrees on the postponement he surprisingly seems happy with his situation.

But without a doubt, the highlight of this episode is Elaine. The Postponement gave the character more depth and complexity than the entirety of Season 6 did. In fact, everything about her has a level of realism that's not that common in Seinfeld. From the way she confesses to the Rabi to the way she fakes happiness in front of George. A high note of the season.

In summation, a great episode to propel the plot but also the characters.

    • Trivia
The scene where Jerry & George watch a guy remain calm & keep eating his sandwich, while his girlfriend was making a scene was inspired by a real life event that Jason Alexander witnessed. He claims to have witnessed a similar scene between a famous actor who kept calm & indifferent while his famous actress girlfriend cried uncontrollably. He refused to name names though.
    • Goofs
When in Jerry's (Jerry Seinfeld) apartment, Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) crushes an empty beer can on the kitchen counter and leaves. In the next shot we see a different can on the bench.

George Costanza: [to Jerry] You're a good friend. If you killed somebody, I wouldn't turn you in.

      [George leaves]

Jerry: Hey, Kramer, if I killed somebody, would you turn me in?

      Cosmo Kramer: Definitely.

      Jerry: You're kidding!

Cosmo Kramer: No, no. I would turn you in.

Jerry: You would turn me in?

Cosmo Kramer: I wouldn't even think about it.

Jerry: I can't believe I'm hearing this. You're supposed to be a friend of mine!

Cosmo Kramer: Well, what kind of person are you going around killing people?

Jerry: Well, I am sure I had a good reason!

Cosmo Kramer: Well, if you'll kill this person, who's to say I wouldn't be next?

      Jerry: But you know me!

Cosmo Kramer: I thought I did!
