    "I don't want to be a pirate!"

Season 5, Episode 2, "The Puffy Shirt"

"The Puffy Shirt" should be on anybody's list of the greatest Seinfeld episodes ever. It's one of those episodes where all the threads and all the plots come together to a truly satisfying conclusion.

The actors are all on the top of their game - especially Jason Alexander. The episode is a defining moment for George's character. But Jerry is terrific too, extremely awkward but also hilarious. The writing for the episode, above all, story and dialog both, is one of the true highlights of the show's entire run. A classic piece of television that benefits from repeated viewings.

Sex, Nudity and Profanity, Violence and Gore ...

All of the above are rated "Mild" regarding this episode. What am I missing here?

    He Followed Through

Jerry goes through utter humiliation when he unwittingly agrees to wear a shirt on the Today show. It is Kramer's girlfriend who speaks so low we can't hear her. The shirt is an ugly pirate thing out of the 18th Century and her career depends on his wearing it. Of course, it all goes south. The other plot involves George becoming a hand model. The best part is the story he is told about a guy who did so much modeling his hands became like crabs. But this is all for naught. Jerry's expressions as he appears on the show are priceless. He is doing the honorable thing but can only take so much. Of course, Kramer dances around, causing damage wherever he goes.

    George has hands

    Puffy shirt is a classic

On the month of March on the number date of the 20th. In the year number of 2,023rd

What was this episode about?: Jerry wears a puffy shirt and does not want to be a pirate

    Kramer dates a low talker

George has hand once more and becomes a hand modeler.

Elaine was generous in this. So what happened on seasons 7, 8 and 9.

    Totally different personas.

The story and the production overview: A classic iCONIC episode. So much amusement.

Though the low talker should be sent to jail for assaulting George and ending his modelling career.

Highlight: I don't wanna be a pirate. Jerry viewing the shirt for the first time.

    Laugh meter: 10

Girlfriend attractiveness level: 6. Good loookin milf.

What can be learned?: bring a low talker translator

Verdict: the shirt wasn't that bad...
