    Mixed Reaction

There are times when House does things that are so unethical that they defy normal sensibilities. Sela Ward, playing Stacy, the ex., has insisted on House finding out what is wrong with him. The guy is resistant, so at a dinner, House drugs him to get him into the hospital. While there, he exhibits serious problems and nearly dies. It's hard to reconcile that House may be OK with the guy dying just to get revenge on Stacy who was forced to make a life altering decision in order to save House's life. His bitterness is off the charts.

Apparently, Cameron is no longer interested in pursuing a relationship with our cantankerous doctor. It sets up the second season pretty well.

    • Trivia
When House orders Chase and Foreman to search Stacey's house Chase states that Short Hills is 2 hours away. This is inaccurate. While the specific location of the hospital is never mentioned it is named Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital and is located in New Jersey. Both Princeton and Plainsboro are each only 55 to 60 minutes away from the town of Short Hills by car.
    • Goofs
Mark says Stacy never has any jewelry except a necklace her mother gave her. But she wears earrings the whole episode.
    • Quotes

Dr. James Wilson: Hey, you *have* to treat this like a regular case. Be yourself: cold, uncaring, distant.

Dr. Gregory House: Please, don't put me on a pedestal.
