Leslie Hope took this one to the bank.

The actress playing Victoria was amazing. She deserved an Emmy for this, in my opinion. This story broke my heart. Well written, and best of the season up to that point.

    The quintessential 'Sad House' episode

First things first, one gotta hand it to Leslie Hope, who doesn't miss a single beat and really embodies the character.

The episode itself is kind of split in two halves, the first one is pretty damn funny, with some of the best roasts, one-liners and jokes of S1. But as soon as the disease starts getting really nasty and the pacient starts to really suffer, the episode shows its true colors. What truly elevates Histories, however, are the final minutes, that pack unbelievable levels of sheer emotional power, from the fatal illness to the revelation of the tragic events that caused all that suffering, and after that, one still gets to watch the last interaction between Foreman and the patient, which is one of the most touching moments in the whole show, plus the beautifully sad ending with House and Wilson, that "introduces" his sick brother and is the cherry on top of the misery cake.

    • Trivia
As Foreman visits the homeless lady's area as drawn on a picture, one of the businesses is Kaplow's. One of the producers is named Lawrence Kaplow, and while he didn't write this episode, he still produced it.
    • Goofs
The patient Victoria Madsen is said to have been shot with a Taser discharging 60,000V, putting her heart in arrhythmia. House looks for a single impact point on her leg after accusing the Police Officer of lying about using the Taser. A Taser shoots two darts with a 7-degree vertical spread, discharging 50,000V at 2.1mA causing involuntary muscle contractions throughout the outer muscle layer of the body. The fact that the patient didn't have any feeling in her thigh would not have made her immune to the Taser. Compare the Tasers 2.1mA/50,000V to the 15A/125V in a regular U.S. wall socket - Amperes kill, not Volts. Also, Taser cartridges have ID-numbers and spread confetti-like ID-tags when discharged; as the officer is personally accountable for each issued cartridge it would have been pointless for him to lie to House.
    • Quotes

Dr. James Wilson: [seeing House has gone through a file on him] You know, in some cultures, it's considered almost rude for one friend to spy on another. Of course, in Swedish, the word friend can also be translated as "limping twerp."
