    God Bless Us Everyone

    In this Christmas episode of in The Heat Of The Night reporter Judith Robinson from the Sparta Herald is writing a human interest story about the Sparta, PD and while Carroll O'Connor is enemies with the editor he gives the other officers permission to talk.

    Which gives us some clips, some funny, some poignant over the hjistory of the program.

      Near the end of this episode, Chief Gillespie tells a story about an outhouse or privy, which he refers to as a "Chic Sale". This is indeed a Southern euphemism for an outhouse, which comes from a vaudeville routine (and later a book) by the comedian Charles 'Chic' Sale.
