Jack McGee is better than James Bond

It was a good conclusion for this two-part episode. It is funny to watch this episode after watching it for the first time since I was a little kid. Back then I didn't realize all the holes about the episode.

The military had trapped the Hulk using microwave technology but after he escaped they were supposed to use it again, so he could not escape again, but they never did it. Then Jack McGee convinced the military and scientists to let him talked to him so he could convince him to stop. Well, because the military has great respect for the civilians and the reporters who threaten them about revealing their "secret" projects. Also McGee can get into any facility and investigate without anybody questioning who he is.

And I forgot to mention that the Major did shoot the Hulk several times with tranquilizers, and they did not have any effect on the Hulk, but in a previous episode McGee shot him once and the Hulk had blurry vision and it was hard for him to continue running. I guess he has better equipment than the military.

As I mention, it is fun to watch the episodes so many years later. The series is still enjoyable.

    The Project

In the second part of the season opener, David Banner(Bill Bixby) and Katie Maxwell(Laurie Prange) have been captured by the military in a scientific project called Prometheus. David is still the Hulk, whom the project members think is an extra-terrestrial, unsuspecting it is really a man, though dogged reporter Jack McGee(Jack Colvin) gets wind of this big development and sneaks his way onto the base to fill the military in on the Hulk, who finally pounds his way free of the dome and escapes... Equally exciting conclusion to this story has lots of action and fine direction, leading to a memorable end, and making up for the contrived plot.

    • Trivia
When David is stuck mid-transformation, the long shots were of bodybuilder Ric Drasin and close ups were of Bill Bixby. In the DVD audio commentary for this two-part episode, executive producer Kenneth Johnson stated that he wanted someone with a bigger body than Bixby but not as big as Lou Ferrigno. Therefore, Drasin was brought in to play the half-Hulk half-human David Banner (also known as the "Demi-Hulk") in those long shots.
    • Goofs
The long shot of the tunnel entrance to the facility shows it is in the face of a tall mountain. The closer shot shows that the mountain is only a little taller than the doors themselves.
    • Quotes

Dr. Jason Spath: [about the Hulk] You mean you've seen this thing before?

Jack McGee: Of course I have. I've chased it back and forth across the country the last three years.

Brad: I'd like to know just how in hell you chased him into here.

Jack McGee: Good reporter doesn't give up easily.

Brad: This "good reporter" may find himself in prison.
