    The Power of the Pen

Gronk (Joe E. Ross) and Shad (Imogene Coca) have learned to write their names. A slick- talking door-to-door brush salesman named McAllister (Eddie Quillan, who played supporting roles in some major films before minor television parts) tells Shad it can be her's by just signing her name. She says she will take them all. Word soon gets around to other salesmen that they will buy anything. A parade of salesmen and women unload their goods with the prehistoric couple believing they merely sign their name and are given these nice things. Astronauts Mac (Frank Aletter) and Hector (Jack Mullaney) return to their apartment to find it full of electronics, sporting goods, appliances, etc. and send everything back. Hector is asked by the delivery man (familiar character and voice actor Henry Corden- voice of Fred Flintstone) to go back and explain why it is all being sent back. Hector tells Gronk and Shad to return to the apartment, but they get lost on the sidewalk and come across a recruiting booth asking for people to sign up. Gronk signs up and is whisked inside by the recruiting officer while Shad is later taken to a health club she signed up for. She's worked over in different ways before the men can find her. Meanwhile, Gronk is at odds with the Army center and comically dispatches his opposition. The astronauts sit them down to tell of the trouble they can get into by signing their name, but not before the delivery man returns with a surprise.

This episode satires the trouble you can get into by just signing your name. It's an intriguing effort that keeps the viewers attention.
