      In the courtroom it was established that there were three handguns used in shootout during the the burglary. One was a .32 caliber revolver used by Cane with which he shot and killed Shimmy Jones who was shooting at him with a .45 caliber semiautomatic pistol. The third gun used by Maxwell was described by Sgt. Karis as a Walther type .380 semiautomatic pistol. When the pistol is shown in the scene with the boy who had found it it is a German P-38 9 millimeter pistol which looks nothing like a Walther .380 pistol.
