- Solivar: [Green Lantern finds gorilla footprints in the park with his ring and follows them to Solivar in a small tunnel, who beats his chest and roars and runs right for him and The Flash, then Green Lantern fires a beam at his chest, knocking him backwards out of the tunnel and onto his back] Was that really necessary?
- Green Lantern: Okay, so he *can* talk. Who are you?
- Solivar: My name is Solivar. I'm chief of security for Gorilla City.
- The Flash: Gorilla City? You've gotta be kidding.
- Solivar: I can assure you this is no laughing matter.
- Green Lantern: Go on.
- Solivar: Safely hidden from humanity, we apes have lived in peace for thousands of years. Until the black day when a power-mad genius known as Grodd tried to conquer our city with advanced mind-control technology. We were able to thwart his evil plot, but we could not prevent his escape. It wasn't until later that we discovered he had also stolen our city's security plans. Grodd has sworn terrible revenge against all those who reside in Gorilla City.
- Green Lantern: If it's true he has a mind-control device, that could explain the isotope thefts and your memory loss.
- Solivar: He needs those isotopes to power his devices.
- The Flash: So where is he?
- Solivar: [retrieving a case from his speeder bike] My investigation showed that Grodd had been carrying on an e-mail correspondence with a local scientist, Dr. Sarah Corwin.
- The Flash: I knew there was something weird about that lady.
- Green Lantern: We'd better call the others.
- The Flash: Why? You think we can't handle one dumb old gorilla?
- [to Solivar]
- The Flash: No offense. It'll be a piece of cake.
- Solivar: [Flash whooshes away] Wait. First you must... he's very fast.
- Green Lantern: Yeah. What were you gonna say?
- Solivar: These headbands will protect us from Grodd's ray.
- Green Lantern: [putting it on] We'd better catch the kid before he gets into any more trouble.
- Solivar: Don't move, Grodd.
- Gorilla Grodd: Solivar. You're a fool to come here.
- Solivar: You can't control us while we're wearing these.
- Gorilla Grodd: Actually, I wasn't thinking of controlling you.
- [using his powers on the Flash]
- Gorilla Grodd: Destroy them.
- Green Lantern: [Flash whooshes forward and punches Solivar] Should have seen that coming.
