Overall: a good episode to show what it evolves to be at this time in the series.
Favorite moments:
Least favorite moments:
Favorite moments:
- Doug running into the phone booth/stand; cracks me up every time and I even rewind to watch it again
- The final performance of "Doug and Carrie" sticks in my head often in a good way
Least favorite moments:
- doesn't seem a very "Carrie" thing when she's almost in tears after dinner with coworkers; I'd expect her to be more "they can bite me" than caring about living up to someone else's standards.
- for "the new girl" in the office, Carrie is a little more "out there" to the group who doesn't even yet know she's not a lawyer; lay low, girl, until they "get" you; just expect different from her.
Doug doesn't like his wife getting an education.
Carrie wants to finish college.
Doug is worried that Carrie won't have time for him anymore, and that if she does meaningful work it will make him look pathetic.
He doesn't need to worry about looking pathetic, he needs to worry about actually being pathetic.
And of course, the writers say that Carrie ok with this.
Sigh.
King of Queens might be the most aggregious offender of the controlling husband.
Ricky Ricardo from the 50s is more enlightened then him. Makes Tim Taylor look like a sensitive Kitty cat. What an absolute tool. Never mind all the time he spends with his friends.

I wasnt a follower of koq but this episode stuck in my head forever lol its the reason im watching the series straight through. Once i saw some with arthur, i was totally hooked, and love spence too. Soooo many talented people on this show, even ray romano and his mom showed up lol. If you like everybody loves raymond, this is definitely worth watching, even without mentioning carrie aka leah remini sorry for the spelling and how she keeps such a straight face during some of the episodes that actually made me laugh so hard and why do we need to do a review with so many characters to say we loved it.
