    Chad Hears Wedding Bells

Chad (Peter Brown)'s demeanor worries Reese (Neville Brand) and Joe (William Smith); they think he's fallen under the spell of a blonde, or red-haired woman. As it turns out, she's Myrna Fahey (as Emily Henderson), a busty brunette beauty. Ms. Fahey, Chad's old girlfriend, has arrived in Laredo with her father, David Brian (as Theo Henderson), a railroad construction manager. As Reese and Joe feared, their partner has fallen in love. Soon, Chad gives Capt. Parmalee (Philip Carey) his resignation; then, he heads off for wedded life, and a job working on his fiancée's father's railroad.

This is a fairly routine and necessarily predictable episode. Chad's misjudgment of the woman's character is surprising, since he seems to have known her well, previously. Still, she was lovely, and came with the hefty promise of $400.00 per month. In the end, the bond between the three Rangers is nicely solidified.

A reunion of the supremely talented writer John McGreevey and the ethereally beautiful actress Myrna Fahey...

Was genuinely curious, upon the recent passing of the legendary William Smith, to sample a "Laredo" episode as a sort of tribute! The episode I chose---the first season's 'Three's Company' had, at least on paper, an impressive pedigree in that it featured veteran actor David Brian, but, mostly, that it was a creative re-teaming of a thoroughly impressive writer (John McGreevey), and an astonishingly beautiful, memorably impactful actress in the late Myrna Fahey! Previously, the two were part of an exceedingly memorable creative collaboration in the 90 minute "Wagon Train" episode titled "The Melanie Craig Story" (also featuring a strong performance from the late Jim Davis)! The "Laredo" episode also featured the same bizarrely, comically whimsical music, but where the episodes differ lies in the impressive literacy of the "Wagon Train" script, and the masterfully anchoring performance of the comely Ms. Fahey! The "Laredo" script, unfortunately, in no way meets the tremendous quality, and high standards of McGreevey's much better, previously authored outing!

    Marriage on her mind

If this Laredo episode strikes a familiar note you viewers might have seen either Gunga Din or the Clan remake of it, Sergeants 3. Movie fans know about those three sergeants in either the Indian Army or the US Cavalry who cannot stand the thought of one of them breaking up the trio with the thought of marriage.

But an old girlfriend of Peter Brown's, Myrna Fahey has come back to town with marriage on her mind and a big job offer from her father David Brian for Brown. He'd go from his $40.00 a month as a Texas Ranger to $400.00 a month working for Dad's railroad. Throwing in Fahey with the job offer, that's mighty tempting for any man.

Still William Smith and Neville Brand don't want to see their buddy leave the trio. Look for other elements from those two classics from the big screen in this Laredo episode.

    Funny western series

I never had watched Laredo until the series was released on DVD and how l love westerns l purchase the box and this is an unusual kind of western is actually a comedy western, funny but spoils a lit bit when it happens so many times, In this episode Chad (Peter Brown) is dating with a beauty girl on visiting Laredo with your father who is trying to offer a job for Chad on Railroad, also increasing a salary, so Reese (Neville Brand) and Riley (William Smith) trying to convincing the Captain Paemalee that Rangers can't loose another good soldier....always in good humor, nevertheless lack of veracity!!!
