    Flint McCullough's foster family

Denny Miller brings word of an old woman he found seriously ill on the trail and she claims to be Robert Horton's mother. Jane Darwell is the old woman and Horton goes to her in time to she her die and ask him to look in on her blood kin son Rory Calhoun. Horton leaves the Wagon Train to go searching for his foster brother.

Darwell was not Horton's real mother, they were killed in an Indian attack, but she raised him for a few years. Rory was not exactly a model child and she knows he's been involved in scrapes before and that Horton covered for him. But now he's the mayor of a small, but fast growing frontier town. But has he really changed and is now a respectable citizen?

Calhoun does very well with his portrayal of a man of most ambiguous character. And we learn a bit more about Flint McCullough and just what he did in the past to protect Calhoun's reputation for Darwell's sake.

    A nice episode.
