Curtis aged 40 married to Mary Ellen, aged 20

What annoys me is the Hollywood thing of casting really young women with much older on screen husbands.

Doesn't it seem strange that she chooses a husband twice her age who looks even older than 40?

Boys just want to have fun!

I agree curt in so many words said her family's house was not suitable. Even though she was born there. Grandpa was a man of God, but nothing wrong with having a little fun. The dancer was fabulous.

Curtis Willard treats Mary Ellen like a child

The character, Curtis Willard treated Mary Ellen like a child when she said she wanted her baby born at home. That's not surprising he would since he's old enough to be her father.

The Narrator: There came a time when everyone on Walton's Mountain was looking forward to a very special event, a blessed one, the birth of my sister Mary Ellen's baby. All the neighbors shared our anticipation as the day approached and only the mother-to-be seemed unconcerned that a new generation of Waltons was about to begin.
