I liked the basic story and the characters are well played. The story-line about the hawk was also quite nice. However, having been raise Baptist I know that they got the process of selecting a new pastor completely wrong. Women have nothing to do with deciding who becomes the new pastor in a Baptist church, it is ENTIRELY up to the deacons (ALL of whom are men in a Baptist church). They did correctly represent the backbiting and rumors that fly around in a conservative religious community though. Overall I enjoyed the episode but having the women doing the deciding in a Baptist church did cause me confusion.
Erin and the new minister,Cora Beth fantasizing about the minister and the three Walton males, featured in this episode, trying to catch a chicken hawk.
Is the Walton's just a soap opera now? My asking the question also answers the question. I suppose, back in the day, people watched this--after years of being devout viewers and liked it. Not much of a choice on tv in 1977.
What would the plot be if the minister looked like Woody Allen? Would Erin still go for him?
My question also answers the question.
