    Bad Writing

As a Waltons fan, I have to say this episode truly takes the cake in bad writing. It is really sad to see the writers run out of clever story ideas. Even the lines are horrible. Ike telling Stanley that he just happens to know that Rose is having her morning constitutional down by the pond in order to entice Stanley to go talk to her is absolutely ridiculous! Seriously?!? I also don't understand how important characters are omitted from the episode without any explanation as to why they aren't there. I can see why the show ended after this terrible season. I think they should have ended the show when John and Olivia departed.

Rose is doing Spring Cleaning in 1946. She receives a camera as a wedding present. Eastman Kodak Company made the Brownie Target Six-20 from July 1946 until May 1952. It would not be released for sale until a few months after the episode took place. She could NOT have received the camera she was given.

Narrator: [narration as John 'John Boy' Walton, Jr. reading from his journal] There was a growing independence in our family as we grew older. With the years we became more individual, often holding firm and differing opinions, approaching life from diverse directions. But let joy or sorrow come to one, it always came to us all, to be faced, to be shared, to be experienced together. When the Waltons needed to be a family we came together as one.
