    Storyline Error

In this episode Jim Bob refers to the night that John boy stayed out all night dancing, but that hadn't happened yet. The marathon dance is in the next episode.

An episode that didn't resonate for me

This episode just didn't seem to have the usual ...... oh, the usual SOMETHING.

Perhaps it was the guest stars (though Linda Purl was quite good), or perhaps the script. This new family arriving to Walton's Mountain seemed more than just out of place. They appeared to me to be unbelievable as characters.

I fault the script more than anything else.

    The episode just didn't "hum"

    • Goofs
They are all sitting at the dinner table and the Hanovers ask if they had ever traveled anyplace, Jim Bob said that John Boy had danced all night and that his mother didn't like it. The only problem is that the dance marathon Jim Bob was referring to doesn't happen until the next episode.

Narrator: [narration as John 'John Boy' Walton, Jr. reading from his journal] Sometimes the future tries to warn us by casting a shadow over the present. Such a warning came to us one morning in the form of a scent of smoke borne by the wind.
