    • Trivia
One of few episodes of the series not to have the typical ending of the family saying good-night to each other. However, John does say 'Good-night, Mr. President,' as the train carrying President Roosevelt's body passes by the family.
    • Goofs
When John goes to see President Roosevelt, the President is at his home in Warm Springs. When he gets there, John contacts one of the president's aides, the scene looks more like the White House than it does the house in Warm Springs. There are plenty of people moving around, and there are also stairs going up. The house in Warm Springs had only one story, and on the day the president died, there weren't that many people there at his house.
    • Quotes

John Walton, Sr.: [to Verdie after he brings Harley home] One of the last things President Roosevelt did was sign Harley's pardon.
