Coburn and McQueen...... Say no more.....

Big screen quality entertainment..... I did notice Steve McQueen's outfit seems to be made of polyester..... Not sure if cowboys had that material then....

New Opening But Same Great Show

The first "surprise" of this new season - the third and last of "Wanted: Dead Or Alive" - is the new opening. It's very dramatic, very cool and a lot better than the old one which we saw the first two years of this great old TV western.

Otherwise, things look the same as far as the great acting, good direction and lighting and varied-and-interesting stories. They are also intelligent stories; they don't insult you with dumb or clichéd stories. You are never quite sure how things will wind up, and this story is a perfect example of it.

We also get two well-known guest stars in this opening-week episode: Paul Burke, who went on to star in TV's "The Naked City," and James Coburn, who turned out to be a famous actor on the big screen. A couple of years after this episode was filmed, series star Steve McQueen and Coburn were together on the war flick, "The Great Escape." By then, McQueen was now a movie star, as well.

This is a very good opening show, with a very satisfying ending that will put a smile on your face, and it almost makes me feel bad it's the last season but, hey, McQueen was entitled to go on to bigger and better things!
