    Opposites attract.

Sat in the pub with her sister, Brenda spots Malcolm, a tall guy, and something different, a biker.

I wasn't sure that Watching was going to have aged well, and instantly you'll see it's wonderfully of the time, bright, garish, it's wonderfully 1980's, but I enjoyed it, the humour is so different to what audiences were given in the 60's and 70's, this was a lot more down to Earth.

Love Emma Wray, she is so funny as Brenda, witty, cutting and cheeky.

I did find it funny, a few jokes and one liners, but I can totally relate to the idea of watching and inventing stories, when I worked for Debenhams it's how I spent my days.

    Fun start, 7/10.

    Meeting

Watching was a cheeky Scouse comedy about two mismatched couple. It started out in 1987 and ran until 1993.

Brenda likes to see the world go round from her local pub with her best friend Pamela.

She is unemployed both have tricks to cadge a free drink here or there.

One day she catches biker Malcolm and gets a date by making out she is related to Kenny Dalglish.

Brenda thinks that she is going to some kind of greaser biker meet up. Instead it is birdwatching, that is Malcolm's hobby.

Brenda is upset as she travelled down in a sidecar and got wet.

It does take a bit of swallowing that Brenda would ever be attracted to Malcolm who is naive and a bit of a bore.

It does have some spiky wit as it tries to catch the Bread vibe, A popular Liverpool based comedy that was on the BBC at the same time.
